Saul Alvarez and John Ryder were face to face in Guadalajara for the final press conference before their bout this Saturday for the World Boxing Association (WBA) super middleweight championship and the IBF, WBC and WBO belts.

The conference had an impressive turnout in a demonstration of the expectations for the bout and the collective excitement to see a fight of this caliber on Mexican soil.

Alvarez spoke about his opponent and assured that it will not be easy to face Ryder. He praised the British fighter’s skills and highlighted the quality of the opponents he has faced. On the other hand, he highlighted the atmosphere he expects to be fighting at home, which will undoubtedly be a boost for him on Saturday night.

For his part, Ryder was calm yet aware of the opportunity this fight has for him. The Englishman said he has made the best preparation of his career and that he is focused on pulling off the upset in Canelo’s house, for which he will need to get the best out of his boxing and not make any mistakes.

The next event between both fighters will be the official weigh-in, which will take place this Friday and in which both must weigh in at 168 pounds to be eligible for the world title fight.
