Can Xu and Leigh Wood met face to face at a press conference before their WBA Featherweight title bout this Saturday at Matchroom Boxing’s Fight Camp in Brentwood, England.

The Chinese native and his British opponent will be in the main fight of the evening after WBA Continental Welterweight Champion Conor Benn tested positive for Covid-19 and his fight against Adrian Granados was suspended.

Xu and Wood looked very motivated at the press conference and talked about what they expect from this fight.

“I’ll go back home with my belt,” Can Xu assured regarding the black and gold belt. “This is going to be a great fight.”

For his part, Wood talked about the great opportunity ahead of him and what it means to him.

“It’s a dream to be fighting for a world title. I’m 100% sure I can beat Can Xu,” said the veteran to the media.

Now they only have to step on the scales this Friday, where they must mark 126 pounds to be ready for the title fight. Can Xu has 18 wins, 2 losses, and 3 KOs, while Wood has a record of 24 wins, 2 losses, and 12 KOs.
