Ryan Burnett and Nonito Donaire will face each other this Saturday for the Super World Championship of the World Boxing Association (WBA), which is currently held by Burnett. The Hydro Sports Pavilion will be the stage for the fight, which will be part of the first round of the World Boxing Super Series at 118 pounds.

The champion, a native of Northern Ireland, will make the second defense of his crown which he won last year by beating Kazakhstan’s Zhanat Zhakiyanov. Now he will have an experienced opponent like the Filipino, who has won titles in five different divisions, and has returned to bantamweight after two consecutive fights in the featherweight division.

Speed and youth are on the side of Burnett, a boxer who stands out for his good technique and intelligence, which are the tools that have made him one of the best in the weight class today.

In the case of Donaire, he will have his height of 171 cm, 8 above the champion. He will also have experience and the power that he’s shown throughout his career until this point, which is going to be dangerous for the champion on Saturday night.

Burnett is 26 years old and is undefeated in 19 bouts, with 9 of them coming via knockout. Meanwhile, Donaire is 35 years old and has 38 wins, 5 losses and 24 wins inside the distance.
