The boxing world already knew what Dmitry Bivol was capable of however his name had not been able to have a worldwide reach until this Saturday. The World Boxing Association (WBA) light heavyweight champion knew what he had to do and he did it to defeate Canelo Alvarez in a dramatic fight on Saturday in Las Vegas.

The Kyrgyzstan-born, Russian national dominated the Mexican in an impressive manner to score a very important unanimous decision win for his career.

Now the world has fully learned who Bivol is and what he can do in the ring. With smart boxing, impressive hand speed and a high volume of punches, the monarch worked his challenger, used his jab and managed to frustrate the Mexican to score the unanimous victory.

The 31-year-old fighter was calm and confident before, during and after the victory in a demonstration that honor comes first for him. After his victory, he assured that his goal is to win all the 175-pound titles, for which he will have to defeat the winner of the Artur Beterbiev-Joe Smith Jr. bout, who will fight in June.

However, he also said he is ready for a rematch with Canelo, who said he wants to fight him again. Bivol said that the next fight could be at 168 pounds to seek the four belts that the Mexican has in his possession, which would give an extra ingredient to that fight.

For now, Bivol enjoys greatness and proved to the world that he is one of the best. His career has taken another dimension and he wants to take advantage of every opportunity that comes his way. A new world figure is born.
