Primer festival de boxeo Gilberto Mendoza.
Gilberto Mendoza Boxing Festival.

The fourth day of activities of the Gilberto Mendoza Festival was very emotional and important boxing figures were at the places where the events took place.

Guárico and Aragua were very excited with the boxing program, while Falcon, and Nueva Esparta, western and eastern states also had their share.

Although Mendoza was born in Lara, he lived in Aragua for many years. For that reason the fights taking place in Aragua were the most colorful.

La Paz Gym in La Victoria was the site of more than 30 amateur fights.  The fights were between boxers from Aragua and Miranda and the locals won 23 of the fights.

The four time world champion, Leo “Torito” Gamez and former WBA champion were supportive of the work done and pay their respect to Gilberto Mendoza memory.

Saturday March 11, mark the year of the death of the emeritus president of the World Boxing Association, and there will be two mass in Aragua, as well as a professional boxing card.
