Last Friday produced two new continental champions under the World Boxing Association banner. In a pair of highly competitive battles, unbeaten Alex Bray and talented boxer Corey Marksman came through in their respective assignments to capture continental belts from the pioneering organization.

At super welterweight (154 pounds), Alex Bray delivered a powerful and commanding performance, stopping the determined Antraveus Ingram by eighth-round technical knockout to become the new WBA Continental Latin America Champion.

Bray imposed his will from the opening bell, digging in with punishing hooks to the body and effectively cutting off the ring. In the eighth round, he unleashed a relentless barrage with Ingram offering no answer, forcing the referee to step in and halt the contest.

Meanwhile, at the lightweight limit (135 pounds), Corey Marksman showcased his growing maturity in the ring with a unanimous decision victory over dangerous Christian Barreto to claim the vacant WBA Continental Americas title.

The judges rewarded Marksman’s jab, movement and accurate counterpunching with official scores of 96-94, 98-92 and 96-94, sealing a convincing victory after ten rounds of intense action.

Both victories further establish Bray and Marksman as elite prospects ready to take on bigger challenges in the years ahead.
