British Caoimhin Agyarko will make the first defense of his World Boxing Association (WBA) international middleweight belt on Saturday at the Nottingham Arena, against Mexican Juan Carlos Rubio.

The bout will undercard of the Leigh Wood and Michael Conlan feature fight for the WBA featherweight world title.

Agyarko is a strong up-and-coming fighter who is 25 years old. In his most recent fight he won the regional black and gold belt with a nine round technical knockout over American Noe Larios Jr. from whom he took his undefeated record.

Now he will fight Rubio, a 23 year old who has just suffered a setback but is motivated to fight and with the goal of using it as a boost. The Guadalajara native is a fighter and his style promises to provide action and make for an interesting bout.

Agyarko is undefeated in 10 fights, with 7 knockouts, while Rubio has 18 wins, 1 loss and 9 knockouts.
