Irish Katie Taylor beat American Jessica McCaskill to retain her World Boxing Association (WBA) Lightweight Title this Wednesday night.

Taylor took control in the early rounds, managed to dodge punches and connected her right cross on her rival’s face. However, in the intermediate rounds, things got a little difficult for her. In the sixth, McCaskill landed a right to her face and in the seventh she was deducted a point.

In the end, the fight went to the cards and the judges favored Taylor with a unanimous decision: 97-92, 97-92 and 98-91. Thus, the Irish boxer keeps her undefeated record and adds the eighth victory, with 4 of them by knockout.
