Napoleon will defend her reign

An explosive year begins for women’s boxing, which will be the main attraction on a luxury line-up on January 10 at the Ocean Resort Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA. There, Alicia Napoleon who was chosen as the 2018 female revelation will make the third defense of the World Boxing Association’s super-middleweight crown, while at the same time she will try to win the belt of her opponent: Scotland’s Elin Cederroos. The star fight will be held by Claressa T-REX Shields who will be in pursuit of the Super Welterweight leadership.

The New Yorker, nicknamed The Company, has a record of 12 wins, seven of which were by way of knockout and only one loss before her countrywoman Tori Nelson. Napoleon is Nº 1 rated contender of the super middleweight female ranking after a great performance since she made her professional debut in 2014.


Napoleon has a rich amateur career in which she raised her arms to the sky in celebration after winning the Golden Gloves in New York and now, as world champion as a professional, she has a new chance to double her belt in front of the also champion Cederroos. The Swedish has a record of 7 wins with 4 knockouts and no losses. She won the International Boxing Federation (IBF) crown in March 2019 against the tough Femke Hermans and this will be her first defense and also her debut in an American arena and against a tough opponent like “La Empresa”.


In the overall picture, looking at their records, and their KOs percentage, they are fairly even. Both of them are of the same height, 1.65 meter, with some centimeters in favor of the local, as well as her reach.
