Cecilia Braekhus returned to the ring after a long period of inactivity and defended her World Boxing Association (WBA) World Female Welterweight Title with a unanimous decision victory over Argentina’s Victoria Noelia Bustos in Monte Carlo Casino.

The judges cards read 99-91, 98-92 and 98-92. It was defense number 25 of the Norwegian fighter of Colombian origin. Braekhus did not have too many inconveniences in combat and used her physical advantage to keep the always aggressive South American at bay.

The right hand was key for the “First Lady”, who won in almost all the exchanges and managed to connect with powerful punches on Bustos’s face to win the rounds quite clearly.

The champion had not fought since December of last year but was in great physical condition to prove that she is still the most relevant fighter today.

It was the 36th victory of Braekhus’s professional career, of which she has won 9 by knockout and doesn’t know defeat. Bustos fell to 19 wins and 6 losses.
