The World Boxing Association (WBA) continues to work on the training and development of young boxers worldwide. The championship body of the black and gold belt gave its support to the junior tournament that took place in Venezuela this week and in which several local fighters had great performances.
For the WBA, it is a pleasure to announce that scholarships will be offered to the outstanding students and kits will be awarded to those who participated in the event that took place in the state of Lara. The Omar Catari Gymnasium dressed up to receive the best of the category on Venezuelan soil. There were 6 days of fierce competition between November 3rd and 8th.
In the mens branch, Guarico stayed with the championship to accumulate 25 points, only one more than Capital District, which ended with 24. In the third place was Miranda with 23 units, followed by Zulia with 18, and the final position was for Carabobo – the state that completed 12 points.
In the female division, Guarico repeated the victory and got the first place with 40 points, with second place going to Miranda (36), while 27 points of the Capital District enabled them to also reach the podium. Zulia finished in the fourth place (18) and the fifth place spot was for Lara (17).
As for the individual prizes, Zuliano Geremi Vera was awarded as the Most Technical Boxer after his great performance and the display of a beautiful style in the ring. The Most Emotive Combat was also recognized in both categories; in the case of the men, the fight held at 60 kilograms between Hector Dino (Falcon) and Luis Riera (Miranda) was awarded, while in the female class it was the confrontation of 48 kilos between Juan Reinozo (Lara) and Arianna Ferreira ( Tachira).
