The World Boxing Association (WBA) continues making decisions for the development of the sport worldwide and its improvement. On Sunday, during the first Directorate meeting held at the Centennial Convention in Orlando, Florida, President Gilberto Jesus Mendoza made official the incorporation of Lasana Béa Diallo to the board of directors.

Béa Diallo is Guinea’s Minister of Sports and one of the special guests at the event. The African was part of the meeting and spoke of the ongoing plan in his country and the continent for boxing to continue growing and be an engine for the benefit of the youth.

In an emotional speech, the leader told how he started the project for African boxers and what his plans are for the immediate future. He expressed his gratitude for having joined the pioneer organization and promised to work hand in hand to accelerate different processes and to be able to continue progressing in this important contingent for world boxing.

The executive was introduced by President Mendoza in front of all the members of the Board of Directors and was officially welcomed by Hall of Famer Stanley Christodoulou in a modest but very significant act.

The WBA is proud to add to its ranks a hard-working boxing man with great ideas like Béa Diallo. It is the beginning of great things and a great opportunity for feedback between Africa and the boxing world.
