Zogaj Puts His Unbeaten Record on the Line Against Rigas

Kosovo’s Altin Zogaj (15-0, 8 KOs) is set for the biggest test of his career as he faces Germany’s Alexander Rigas for the WBA Continental Europe light heavyweight title on February 22 in Stuttgart.

For the undefeated Zogaj, this will be his first shot at a WBA title, but fighting in Germany feels like home. He has turned the country into his personal fortress, with his last 10 fights taking place on German soil. His most recent victory came via unanimous decision over Tanzania’s Joseph Malgwisya (98-91, 98-91, 97-92).

On the other side, Rigas brings more experience into the ring. The German contender boasts a 20-2 record (9 KOs) and is riding a seven-fight win streak since suffering a unanimous decision loss to Raras Holovaschenko in 2021. His most recent outing saw him claim victory over countryman Benjamin Blindert, who retired mid-fight.

While neither fighter is known for crushing knockout power, this bout is shaping up to be a high-level chess match, where both men’s ring IQ and ability to control the distance will be key.

Will Zogaj keep his undefeated streak alive and claim his first WBA belt, or will Rigas use his experience to take over? Stuttgart is in for a tactical showdown on February 22.
