The World Boxing Association (WBA) wishes a speedy and satisfactory recovery to the Argentine boxer Hugo Santillan, who suffered a faint after his fight against Uruguayan native Eduardo Abreu this Saturday night at the Club San Nicolas in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

After a hard fight in which both fought 10 rounds that ended in a draw, the home fighter collapsed in the arms of his trainers and was assisted up before being transferred to a medical center. The dramatic scene was broadcast live on a local channel and has been around the continent.

The oldest organization in the world sends their best wishes to a warrior like Santillan and hopes that the mishap does not happen to anyone else, and of course to a speedy recovery for Santillan.

The WBA has worked in the medical aspect and also in the WBA Academy, with the intention that these types of accidents happen less and less and to make boxing a safer sport. Strength to you at this time, Hugo.
