Itauma enters the bout undefeated at 11-0 with 9 knockouts

On May 24, the SSE Hydro in Glasgow will play host to a high-stakes night of WBA action, headlined by a pivotal heavyweight clash between rising British phenom Moses Itauma and seasoned American contender Mike Balogun. The two will square off in a 10-round showdown with the WBA International title on the line.

At just 20 years old, Itauma enters the bout undefeated at 11-0 with 9 knockouts. Known for his blistering hand speed and relentless pressure, he’s quickly becoming one of the most talked-about young names in British boxing. His most recent outing ended in dramatic fashion, as he demolished Demsey McKean with a first-round knockout, sending a clear message to the division.

Balogun, 41, brings a wealth of experience and a solid 21-1 record with 16 knockouts. While he’s shared the ring with notable opposition, he’s been inactive for a year, last seen outpointing Lamont Capers over eight rounds. The veteran’s biggest test will be handling Itauma’s youthful firepower and staying out of trouble early.

Also on the card, cruiserweights Aloys Youmbi and David Jamieson will battle for the vacant WBA Continental title in an all-British clash that promises fireworks.

Youmbi, 22, boasts a 9-1 record with 8 wins by knockout. His raw power and finishing ability have marked him as one to watch in the division. He’s coming off a third-round KO victory over Lewis Oakford and will be looking to keep that momentum rolling.

Jamieson, the more seasoned of the two at 13-3, has faced tougher opposition and knows how to navigate deep waters. His game plan will likely revolve around weathering Youmbi’s early storm and breaking him down with constant pressure and ring savvy.

It’s a stacked night of action in Glasgow, with WBA hardware on the line and the next generation of British talent looking to make their mark on the global stage.
