WBA rankings had great movement in February

The World Boxing Association (WBA) published its male and female rankings for the month of August with all the changes corresponding to the period after a month of good activity.

The eighth month of the year had three world championship fights, all held on August 20. In Hollywood, Florida, Hector Garcia defeated Roger Gutierrez and won the super featherweight championship after a great display of 12 rounds of dominance.

On the same night, Alberto Puello defeated Batyr Akhmedov in a fairly even fight to capture the vacant WBA super lightweight belt and fulfill the dream of his career.

Earlier that day, Oleksandr Usyk retained his Super Heavyweight Championship against Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia, marking his first defense of the crown and his ratification as the opponent to beat at heavyweight.

The rankings and their movements are already published on the WBA official website in the corresponding section and can be reviewed by anyone interested.
