The municipal mayor of Hermosillo in Sonora, Mexico, Lic. Celida Lopez Cardenas, named the former Solidaridad Gymnasium as the new Juan Francisco “El Gallo” Estrada sports venue.

This distinction was made within the framework of the amateur event “Champions in your Community”, an activity that brought together children and adults to welcome the Sonoran pride “Gallo” Estrada.

As part of the program an allusive plaque was unveiled to this distinction in the midst of a festive atmosphere that desired to show that good examples of sporting are an inspiration for the generations of today and tomorrow.

To close the day the municipal president made a formal delivery of WBA recognition; delivering a small belt and gold and black medal to Estrada, who has been a worthy representative of the longest-running sanctioning body in boxing where he reigned as champion from 2013-2015 after having dethroned Filipino Brian Viloria in the flyweight class.
