The iconic Luis Navarro Gymnasium in Miranda’s capital city became the center of developmental boxing this weekend as it hosted another intense edition of the WBA Future program. Featuring a total of 15 bouts, the World Boxing Association’s grassroots platform once again delivered a high-level showcase that allowed emerging talent and rising prospects in Venezuelan boxing to test their skills on a competitive stage.

The main event lived up to expectations and went the distance in a tactical battle. Gleybert Maia controlled the pace of the fight from start to finish, using his superior timing and ring IQ to secure a unanimous decision victory over the always-game Carlos Díaz. Maia’s consistency and command inside the ring were fully reflected on the judges’ scorecards, which read 98-90, 96-92, and 98-90 in his favor, further confirming his steady evolution as a prospect.

Meanwhile, the most explosive moments of the night came through stoppage victories. Jesús Geles showcased his finishing power by handing Diego Carbajal the first loss of his career via second-round technical knockout after applying relentless pressure from the opening bell. In similar fashion, Josber Pérez displayed his offensive arsenal by stopping Euclides Herrera, also by second-round TKO.

The quickest finish of the evening belonged to Geremy Vera, who wasted no time making a statement. Vera scored a devastating first-round knockout over Luis Guatache, electrifying the crowd at the Luis Navarro Gymnasium with a brutal display of punching power.

With the completion of these 15 bouts, the WBA Future program once again reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining consistent activity at the grassroots level of the sport, providing fighters with the technical and competitive foundation necessary to project their careers onto the international stage under the supervision of the world sanctioning body.
