Last Saturday, May 23, the Principality of Andorra became the center of developmental boxing with the successful staging of the WBA Future festival, further solidifying the efforts of the World Boxing Association to grow the sport and provide high-level competitive platforms across European territory.

The event stood out for its inclusive and multicultural atmosphere, serving as an unprecedented showcase for local talent with at least 14 Andorran fighters stepping into the ring. At the same time, the card gained a strong competitive dimension through international participation, bringing together several standout boxers from different European nations who squared off in tactically intense contests.

Backed by the logistical support and regulatory oversight of the WBA, this edition of the Future program in Andorra not only boosts grassroots boxing development in the Principality, but also reaffirms the organization’s mission of building sporting bridges throughout Europe, allowing emerging prospects to gain official experience under the highest international standards.
