The Yuyin Luzcando Gymnasium, located in the historic district of Betania in Panama City, became the focal point of Latin American boxing on Saturday, June 20, as the WBA Future program delivered another memorable chapter in its mission to develop the sport’s next generation of stars.
Organized by the pioneering sanctioning body with the support of the Panama City Mayor’s Office and the Betania Community Board, the event provided local fans with an electrifying day of competition aimed at fostering emerging talent while helping shape the organization’s regional rankings.
The card was marked by its intensity and depth, featuring a total of 17 bouts throughout a marathon day of action. The event also carried additional significance, as it served as a qualifying stage for athletes seeking spots in the Central American Student Games (CODICADER), scheduled to take place in Honduras this September.
From the lighter, fast-paced divisions to the middleweight ranks, the ring at Yuyin Luzcando Gymnasium hosted a series of exciting contests, with local prospects leaving everything in the ring as they looked to showcase their skills and continue their development.
Backed by a strong turnout that packed the sports complex, the event once again highlighted Panama’s growing importance within the WBA Future program. The country continues to demonstrate a deep pool of young talent and steady progress at the grassroots level.
The success of the card further reinforces the WBA’s commitment to providing consistent competitive opportunities for boxing’s next generation, bringing another memorable night filled with passion, determination, and high-level action inside the ropes.
