On October 31, on the second day of the World Boxing Association (WBA) Annual Convention, a forum for the journalists was held in the evening at the University Research Office of the University of Antioquia main auditorium.

There were many great guest speakers on hand such as Ricardo Finito Lopez, Salcedo Ramos, and Bernardo Pilatti.

The purpose of the journalist forum was to demonstrate various aspects of journalism such as, interviewing techniques, writing, media content, and how to prepare news properly.

The preparation of news is of utmost importance for boxing journalists to learn and it is not the easiest task in the world. It’s not just about content but in fact is more so about establishing a framework for conveying ideas properly and in a structured manner.

There were many good topics covered at the forum with everyone benefitting from the experience put forth.  Knowing the target audience and knowing the topic may seem like a very straightforward thing to say but a concise format for getting your point across in few words is an art form that is difficult to learn.

Overall the forum for the journalists put on by WBA was a fun experience for everyone present.  Journalism needs to be the start of boxing.
