The purse bid for the vacant WBA Lightweight World Championship bout between Floyd Schofield and Lucas Bahdi, which was scheduled to take place this Tuesday, August 11, has been postponed at the request of both parties, who asked for additional time as they continue working toward an agreement.
The WBA Championships Committee had scheduled the purse bid for this Tuesday in Houston, but the teams representing both fighters requested an extension of the negotiation period until August 18. Given both parties’ willingness to reach an agreement, the WBA granted the extension.
The committee will continue monitoring the situation in the coming days and will remain in communication with both fighters’ teams to receive updates regarding the details of the Schofield vs. Bahdi bout for the vacant WBA Lightweight World Championship.
