The WBA Championships Committee denied the request for direct rematch requested by Anselmo “chemito” Moreno, after being defeated by the Dominican Juan Carlos Payano, now bantamweight world champion.

Additionally, rules E.21 and E.22 of the regulation provides that the referee has the authority to stop the bout, prior consulting the doctor in the event of a cut or injury. In the case of Moreno vs Payano fight, the referee exercised his discretional authority to consult the doctor. Therefore, he stopped the bout regardless of who was ahead on the cards.

Based on the foregoing, the claim of Moreno has been denied.
