WBA celebrates WBO entrance in Japanese marketWBA press. February 18. The World Boxing Association publicly celebrates WBO entrance in the Japanese market, coming into the Japanese market that will enable the further development and growth of boxing in Asia.

The WBO president, Francisco Valcarcel from Puerto Rico, arrived to the Japanese territory with Mr. Akihiko Honda, president of Teiken Promotions Inc.

“We are positive that a new organization in the Japanese market will create more competition and greater opportunities. This benefits professional boxing. Perhaps in the near future Japan will be a land to carry out inter-organizations tournaments to have more quality shows”, said Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, Vice President of the WBA. This is a great opportunity for the sport of boxing in Asian and its boxers to pursuit of their goals.
