Undefeated Dominican Francis Villar Frometa will defend his World Boxing Association (WBA) Fedelatin lightweight belt this Saturday against Argentine Javier Herrera at the Albatros Club in Montevideo, Uruguay.

The bout will be the main event of the night, which will feature more than a dozen fights and is promoted by Sampson Lewkowicz. “El Terrible” Villar is 27 years old and won the regional title last April 2, in his native Santo Domingo where he defeated Nicaraguan Oliver Flores by unanimous decision.

The Puerto Rican has been a professional since 2016 and has been moving up with patience and hard work. It will be his first fight outside the Dominican Republic and a good opportunity to demonstrate his quality and show himself to another audience.

His opponent will be Herrera, the native of Catamarca is 30 years old and has great experience. In addition, he feels like a local in Uruguay and intends to give the surprise. The South American is not going through his best streak but he wants to reverse the situation and win in this great opportunity.

Villar has 16 wins, is undefeated and has knocked out 10 of his opponents, while Herrera has 17 wins, 6 setbacks, 1 draw and 8 knockouts.
