Venezuela and Panama, two countries that held deep significance for World Boxing Association (WBA) President Emeritus Gilberto Mendoza, will host memorial masses this Wednesday, March 11, marking the 10th anniversary of his passing.

The liturgical ceremonies aim to honor the life and legacy of one of the most influential figures in international boxing. The current WBA leadership, headed by President Gilberto Jesús Mendoza, highlighted the late leader’s “tireless dedication” and the “indelible mark” he left on the sport and on all those who worked alongside him.

The ceremony in Panama will take place at San Francisco de Asís Church in La Caleta, located on Calle 79 Este in Coco del Mar, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Meanwhile, in Venezuela, the mass will be held at La Coromoto Church in Caracas.

Current WBA President Gilberto Jesús Mendoza invited members of the boxing community to come together in prayer and remembrance of a man they regard not only as a great leader of the sport, but also as a cherished friend.
