Former WBA interim super featherweight titleholder Bryan “Tiquito” Vasquez (32-1, 17 KOs) won a five round majority technical decision over Rene “Super Chirizo” Gonzalez (31-6-1, 23 KOs) to regain the WBA 130lb interim belt on Saturday night at the Sports City Gym in Hatillo, Costa Rica. The bout ended prematurely when Gonzalez was cut over the left eye by an unintentional head clash in round five and the bout went to the scorecards where local favorite Vasquez prevailed by scores of 49.5-47.5, 49-46.5 and 48-48.
