WBA Champions and Contenders Map

U.S. and Thailand became the countries with the largest number of boxers in the ranking of the World Boxing Association.

United States has 35 fighters, Thailand with 20, followed by Japan with 19 and Mexico with 15. They are the nationalities with largest presence in the different divisions of the WBA ratings.
North Americans Bernard Hopkins, Andre Ward, Floyd Mayweather Jr, Keith Thurman, Danny García, Jesse Vargas, hold championship fights in differente divisions. Thailand has only one champion in 112 lbs, Yodmongkol Vor Saengthep.

Japan has two regular champions, Takashi Uchiyama in 130 lbs Kohei Kono in 115 lbs. Also has 19 rated contenders in the rankings.

Juan Francisco “El Gallo” Estrada, appears as the 112 lbs unified champion, leads the way to 15 other Mexicans. Among the best rated boxers we find N° 2 minimum contender Jesus Silvestre and Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez in 154 lbs.
The interim champions in 140 and 122 lbs. Johan Pérez and Nehomar Cermeño lead the way to 15 Venezuelans in the ratings. In 135 pounds we find the Golden Boy Jorge Linares with Ismael Barroso as N° 14.

Rafael “El Potro” Hernández is appears as N° 3 in 130 lbs, and in 122, Yonfre Parejo y Liborio Solís occupy the 6 y 7 slots. Breilor Teran is N° 9 in 115 lbs. And Alexis Diaz is N° 13 in 105 lbs.

Finally Cuba has six rated boxers Guillermo Rigondeaux is 122 lbs unified champion followed by Yoandris Salinas in the 2 positon.

Richard Abril is 135 champions and Yuriorkis Gamboa is the interim champion. Erislandy Lara leads the 154 lbs and Luis Ortiz is the Interamerican heavyweight champion.

Anselmo “Chemito” Moreno from Panama is the super world champion in the bantamweight division. Guillermo “Felino” Jones is the champion in recess in the cruiserweight division subject to the results of the B sample of his antidrug test.
