The WBA mourns the death of Angelo DundeeAngelo Dundee, the legendary boxing trainer, who made great boxing figures like Muhammad Ali and “Sugar” Ray Leonard, among others, passed away on February 01, at the age of 88, due to a heart failure.

The World Boxing Association deeply regrets the sensible pass away of the Hall of Famer Angelo Dundee. Dundee was inducted in 2004 as recognition for his long years of dedication training and helping boxers achieve their dream of becoming world champions.

 

 

“One of the greatest strategists of the boxing world passed away, he set unforgettable moments in memorable fights“, said Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, WBA vice-president.

 

He describes Dundee as a “very clever trainer and natural motivator“.
On behalf of the WBA se stated “We lost an unforgettable and invaluable man“.

Angelo Dundee, el legendario entrenador de boxeo que hizo figuras como Muhammad Ali y Ray “Sugar” Leonard, entre otras, falleció la noche del 1 de Febrero, víctima de un ataque al corazón, a la edad de 88 años.

La Asociación Mundial de Boxeo lamenta profundamente el fallecimiento de Dundee, exaltado al Salón de la Fama del boxeo en el año 2004, como un reconocimiento a su trayectoria y sus años de trabajo, en los que ayudó a más de una docena de boxeadores a convertirse en campeones.

“Muere uno de los grandes estrategas de boxeo mundial, que marcó momentos inolvidables en grandes combates memorables”, dijo Gilberto Jesús Mendoza, vicepresidente de la AMB.

Lo describió como un entrenador de “astucia incomparable y un motivador natural”.

A nombre de la AMB, declaró: “Perdimos a un hombre invalorable e inolvidable”.
