The Mendoza Family separated the name of Mr. Gilberto Mendoza, President Emeritus of the World Boxing Association (WBA), of the National Children’s Championship of Venezuela, for not having been consulted for such cause. This was expressed by Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, current President of the WBA.

In addition, Mendoza clarified that the WBA only recognizes Fran López as the President of the Venezuelan Boxing Federation (Fevebox) and Executive Committee Member of AIBA, until the situation of the institution is clarified and AIBA endorses the decision.

Gilberto Jesus Mendoza is in Hamburg for the AIBA World Boxing Championships and will hold a meeting with President Ching-Kuo Wu.
