Japanese boxer Takashi Uchiyama, 130 lbs world champion was chosen by the ratings committee as the Boxer of the Month of the World Boxing Association.

So was announced in the last ratings running from December 6, 2014 to January 5, 2015. The results of the fight held after January 5 will be taken into consideration for the next ratings.

Uchiyama (22-0, 18 KO) defeated Israel Pérez by TKO 9 last December 31, 2014 in Tokyo.

This was the ninth title defense the Japanese.

On his behalf, the Argentinean Juan Carlos Reveco (35-1, 19 KO) won the Honorable Mention after defeating Yodmongkol Vor Saengthep on December 19 in a unification title bout.

This was the sixth defense of the Southerner.
