World Boxing Association super middleweight 160-pound champion Gennady Golovkin tried his luck in baseball, when he made the starting pitching last Saturday for the game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres.

Golovkin, who is training in Big Bear, was invited to make the ceremonial starting pitching for the baseball game.

“It’s an honor to make the starting pitching on this game on Saturday night,” said the world champion at the stadium, “I’ve been training for my fight with Geale, but we came to a great baseball night.”.

Golovkin, 29-0, 26 KO’s was accompanied by his manager, Tom Loeffler.

The WBA champion will defend his belt against Daniel Geale on July 25 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
