The July 8 World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight title fight between Eimantas Stanionis and Vergil Ortiz Jr. is one of the most anticipated bouts of the year as it pits two young, undefeated fighters looking to move to the top of the division. 

Stanionis is the belt owner with a great amateur background, while Ortiz is one of the top prospects in boxing despite the fact that he has not been able to be consistently active due to some health issues stemming from Covid-19.

Now everything is set and both are free of injury or illness, so they will step into the ring in San Antonio, Texas, next month in a bout that promises to be very exciting. 

They are not very strategic boxers. Both are strong, throw a lot of punches and are in great physical condition, so it is expected to be a fight of constant exchange and may end in a knockout because of their power.

The winner will make a great leap both from a sporting and commercial point of view due to the magnitude of the fight and the level it has. 

Stanionis is undefeated in 14 fights, with 9 knockouts. Ortiz has 19 knockouts in the same number of fights.
