The promotional week for next Saturday’s bout between Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall had a very special event this Wednesday in which both got on a boat with a built-in ring and did public sparring, as well as a one-on-one.

Shields, the World Boxing Association (WBA) women’s bantamweight champion and holder of the WBC and IBF belts, will face WBO champion Marshall in a highly anticipated showdown.

While the boat was cruising the London waters with all the fighters who will be present at Saturday’s event at the O2 Arena, they all had their turn to step into the ring and show off for the cameras during light sparring sessions.

At the end there was a great face-off between Shields and Marshall in which the WBA champion displayed her two Olympic medals on her chest as a reminder of her record, even though the Brit has beaten her in amateur boxing before.

The atmosphere continues to heat up and both will carry out different activities before next Saturday, when the undisputed 160 lbs. champion will be decided.
