Seniesa returns to the ring to defend her crown against Villarino

The World Boxing Association (WBA) minimumweight champion, American Seniesa Estrada, will step into the ring of the Palms Casino Resort, Las Vegas, to face Argentinean Jazmin Villarino on Saturday night.

The fight will be special for the 105-pound belt holder as it will mark her return after almost a year of inactivity, and it will also be her first fight after signing a promotional contract with Top Rank Boxing.

Estrada is one of the most talented fighters of today and will make the second defense of the crown she won last March 20, 2021 against Mexican Anabel Ortiz. “Super Bad” defended her belt the previous December 18 against Maria Micheo Santizo in San Antonio and now she is ready to do it again in “Sin City”.

Her opponent will be Villarino, an Argentinean who will have her first commitment of this kind. She won the WBA Gold title of the category on November 13, 2021 against Yenifer Leon, which she defended against Judith Vivanco in Mexico during the month of March of this year. That gave her the right to face the champion and she intends to take advantage of it.

Estrada is undefeated in 22 fights, 9 won by knockout, while Villarino has 6 wins, 1 loss, 2 draws and 1 knockout.
