On February 21, Kyrgyzstan’s Dilmurod Satybaldiev and Tanzania’s Boniface Saguda will square off in Istanbul, Turkey, with the WBA Asia light heavyweight championship at stake.

Satybaldiev is no stranger to World Boxing Association gold. In 2015, he captured the WBA Continental super middleweight title with a split-decision victory over Dmitry Sukhotskiy. However, his career hit a pause from 2017 to 2021. Since returning to the ring, he’s had a mixed run, tallying three wins and three losses.

Saguda, on the other hand, is stepping onto foreign soil for the first time in his career. The 31-year-old Tanzanian had a rough start, suffering a knockout loss in his 2021 debut against Magambo Christopher. But he’s been on a tear ever since, rattling off 10 straight wins—nine of them by knockout.

With both fighters eyeing championship glory, expect an intense battle when they collide in Istanbul.
