The World Boxing Association (WBA) congratulates Salvador Rodriguez, a well-known Mexican journalist, for obtaining the Jorge “Sonny” Alarcon award, which is awarded by the Boxing Commission of Mexico City to the most outstanding journalist of the year.

Rodriguez won the award in its 2018 version due to the great work he has done for both Mexican and world boxing. With his work in ESPN, he has taken the information to the fans from all over the world and has contributed to the sport of pugilism having the discipline that the sport needs today.

“Chava”, as he is nicknamed, received the award from the hands of Ciro Nucci, the president of the commission, in a modest ceremony held in his native country.

The WBA also thanks Rodriguez for the closeness he has had with the company and for the dissemination of information from the oldest sanctioning body in the world. Congratulation to Chava.
