WBA flyweight champion Juan Carlos Reveco (35-1, 19 KOs) of Argentina retained his title in spectacular fashion by way of fifth round TKO over mandatory challenger Yodmongkol Vor Saengthep (34-3, 20 KOs) of Thailand on Friday night at the Polideportivo Gustavo Toro Rodriguez in San Martin, Mendoza, Argentina. Vor Saengthep got off to a good start, dropping Reveco in round two with a straight right. The enthusiatic hometown crowd got behind Reveco as he rose to his feet. Reveco didnt appear seriously hurt but definitely showed respect for Vor Saengthep’s power. Rounds three and four were fought fairly evenly. In round five, Reveco caught Vor Saengthep with a vicious body shot. Vor Saengthep beat the count but it was obviously he didnt catch his breath. He tried to fend off Reveco, who was firing upstairs and down with rapid and accurate forceful punches. The referee had seen enough at that point and waved the fight off at 40 seconds of round five.
