WBA lightweight world champion Richar Abril (19-3-1, 8 KOs) retained his title with a twelve round majority decision over previously unbeaten Edis Tatli (23-1, 7 KOs) on Saturday night at the Hartwell Arena in Helsinki, Finland. Abril, finally making his first defense of the belt in March 2013, won by scores of 114-114, 116-112, 117-111. Abril worked a lot to the body along with straight rights. Tatli connected with some good left hooks to the head. Lots of clinches, no knockdowns, neither fighter in trouble. Both fought well but the champion took more rounds.
