The March 5 fight at the Colosseum Sport Hall of Grozny in Chechnya between WBA World heavyweight champion Ruslan Chagaev (34-2-1, 21 KOs) and WBA #2 ranked Lucas Browne (23-0, 20 KOs) is fast approaching.

Chagaev first won the WBA World heavyweight title when he defeated Nicolay Valuev in 2007. He won the title a second time when he decisioned Fres Oquendo in 2014. He defended his crown in his most recent bout, a first round knockout of Francesco Pianeta in Germany.

The officials for Chagaev vs. Browne have been selected.

Guillermo Perez Pineda from Panama will be the third in the ring. The judges are Jean Robert Laine, Stanley Christodoulou, and Pinit Prayadsab. The WBA supervisor in charge of the bout is Renzo Bagnariol.

The undefeated Browne currently holds the WBA Intercontinental heavyweight title. The May 5 fight in Chechnya will be his first shot at a world title.
