Panama closes the Gilberto Mendoza Festival

The third and final event of the seventh Gilberto Mendoza International Boxing Festival will take place this Thursday, March 30 at the Pedro “Rockero” Alcazar Gymnasium, located in Curundú, Panama with live broadcast through the World Boxing Association YouTube channel starting at 2:00 p.m. local time.

After tremendous successes in Maracay, Venezuela, on March 11 and in Barranquilla, Colombia on March 25, it is now the turn of Panama, a very important country for the WBA and for the president emeritus of the organization, who is being honored on the date of his birthday.

The best boxing talent of this country will gather at the legendary gym for a program that will feature several fights and will serve as a rubbing for all participating athletes.

There is no better way to pay tribute to Mendoza than through boxing, as he was a man passionate for the sport and was always moved by the development of youth, especially in countries that have historically had fewer opportunities.

The WBA brings to a close an international event that has had great moments and has transcended borders in its seventh edition.
