This Monday was special for the promotion of the third fight between Mexico’s Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Kazakhstan’s Gennady Golovkin. Both arrived in New York for a new stop ahead of the fight on September 17, which included a press conference and a visit to Yankee Stadium.

In the afternoon, both fighters had a new face-to-face meeting and spoke to the press about the WBA Super Middleweight Super Championship and the WBC, WBO and IBF belts.

“This is an outstanding fight for the boxing world. It is a long overdue affair. You will see the best Gennady Golovkin next September 17,” assured the Kazakhstan challenger.

For his part, “Canelo” showed the confidence that characterizes him in his speech to the journalists present: “I’m going to prepare 100% like a beast. I just want to fight. I wish today was September 17”.

Afterwards, they visited the New York Yankees’ stadium before their game against the Oakland Athletics and had another face-to-face session at home plate, as well as the first simultaneous pitching session with two catchers.

It was a great day in the capital of the world and the battle between the two continues to heat up as the days go by. It will be the third confrontation between the two fighters, who have managed to create one of the most important rivalries of these times.

GGG: "I guarantee you will see the best Golovkin"
