Mexican Moises Flores became the new Super Bantamweight 122 lbs interim champion of the World Boxing Association, after defeating by split decision Colombian Oscar Escandon last Saturday.
The fight took place in California, ending with scores 116-112 for the Aztecs and 115-113 for Escandon (24-2, 16 KO) who was making the first defense of the title he won in December 2014.
Flores and Escandón alternated control of the actions, on several occasions the Mexican challenger placed his opponent against the ropes and took advantage of the situation, on the other hand the former champion responded well in the Exchange in the middle of the ring.
It was a close fight with action from beginning to end, where the Aztec got to win and thus maintained his unbeaten record after 23 victories, 16 KO.
