The President of the World Boxing Association (WBA), Gilberto Jesús Mendoza, talked to the press on Sunday. After the 99th Convention of the pioneer organization, Mendoza chatted with RPC Radio, of Panama, to speak about the online event.

The WBA is the first boxing organization to hold an online convention and what predominated in the event was innovation. Each of the forums had a purpose and was adapted to the reality boxing is facing today, seeking to expose the problems that are affecting the discipline to, with the support of the best specialists, propose solutions for the benefit of boxing.

Mendoza was satisfied with the result of the event, the quality of the guests, and the announcements that came from the convention, including the progress on an agreement WBA-AIBA, the project to reach Pakistan with Amir Khan, and all the creative discussions on the forums.

Hundreds of people attended the first online convention in history, demonstrating the great convening power of the sanctioning body.
