In a moving ceremony at the athletic hall of Universidad de Managua, WBA President Francisco Gilberto Mendoza was conferred a honorary Doctorate of Humanities on Thursday evening. Dr. Mendoza was honored for his many humanitarian efforts both in and out of boxing, most notably the WBA’s KO Drugs tournaments which raise money around the world in an effort to knockout drug abuse among youth.
