Mayerlin Rivas will defend her World Boxing Association (WBA) super bantamweight belt against Nazarena Romero on Saturday night during the XXXIX edition of the pioneer organization’s KO Drugs KO at the Casino in Buenos Aires, Argentina. 

The Venezuelan champion will defend her belt for the second time against the Argentinean boxer in the main fight of the second KO Drugs event to be held on June 9 and 10 in the South American country. 

Rivas has just overcome some health problems that kept her away from the ring. Her most recent fight was in June last year when she knocked out Karina Fernandez in Guadalajara to win her first defense of her belt. 

Romero is very motivated to fight for the crown at home. The undefeated fighter earned the right to challenge Rivas thanks to her professional streak and now she does not want to fail her people in such an important commitment. 

The WBA Drugs will feature great fights and will have the presence of a lot of talent from several countries around the world. It is the second consecutive time in Argentina and will be broadcasted by TyC Sports, in addition to DAZN, subscription network that will broadcast the confrontation between Rivas and Romero.
