Venezuelan Mayerlin Rivas will make her first defense of the World Boxing Association (WBA) super bantamweight belt against Mexican Karina Fernandez at the Matchroom event to be held this Friday in Guadalajara, Mexico.

La “Monita” will reappear after a long time of inactivity but she feels ready to give everything in the ring in this new stage of her career, after signing with the British promotion company.

Her opponent will be Fernandez, an experienced fighter who has faced boxers like Jackie Nava. She has a good record and will be at home, so it is a good challenge for the champion.

Rivas has a record of 16 wins, 4 losses, 2 draws and 10 knockouts, while Fernandez has 17 wins, 6 losses, 1 draw and 3 knockouts.
