The clash between Cuban Daniel Matellon and Venezuelan Carlos Cañizales will be one of the most interesting fights at the World Boxing Association (WBA) KO Drugs, which will take place on Friday and Saturday in Argentina in a double card.

Matellon and Cañizales are the highest ranked fighters in the pioneering organization and the winner of this fight will be the mandatory challenger for Kenshiro Teraji, the champion of the division.

Matellon is undefeated in his career and his last fight was in July 202, when he defeated Ivan Garcia by a three round knockout to continue his streak.

Cañizales has been in a recovery process since losing to Esteban Bermudez in 2021. The former world champion has won three fights in a row and now faces another eliminator with the intention of winning.

Matellon has 13 wins, 2 draws and 7 knockouts, while Cañizales has 25 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw and 19 knockouts.
