Shabaz Masoud gave a dominant performance against Jack Bateson and took the World Boxing Association (WBA) Intercontinental super bantamweight championship title from him with a 12 round technical knockout on Friday in Sheffield, England.

Masoud was in for a big test for his career as he was facing an undefeated continental champion with more experience than him, but he overcame this hurdle convincingly to win the black and gold belt and take a big leap in his career.

The 26-year-old fighter showed impressive dominance from the opening bell and what was supposed to be a very evenly matched fight ended up being in his favor at almost every round.

The new champion used his combinations and technique well to add up the rounds with almost no problems and at the time of the stoppage he was up by a large margin on the scorecards.

Masoud’s record now stands at 11 wins, no losses and 4 knockouts, while Bateson lost his undefeated record and now has 17 wins, 1 loss and 4 knockouts.
