Maira Moneo, owner of the World Boxing Association Fedelatin Lightweight belt, made her first defense in Argentina against the local Sofia Rodriguez. With two cards of 100-90 and one 99-91, the victory was unanimous for Moneo.

Moneo, nicknamed “La Panterita”, had won the regional belt last February, also in Argentina, and with the same forcefulness in the scorecards. 

The bout was dominated by the local, nicknamed by her corner as “Lobita”, who showed an effectiveness of her punches that seemed to be able to stop the Uruguayan train that was in front of her. However, Moneo’s constant advance did not stop until the last bell. 

The Fedelatin champion, increased her record to 10 wins with 2 knockouts and only 1 loss. While, Rodriguez’ dropped to 5 wins and 6 setbacks.
